The Workhouse
Originally formed in 1996 the present line up has been stable since 2001. The band hail from Cumbria, South Wales, Bolton and Teesside, thrown together between Oxford and London at some point in the late 90’s.
Since 1999 the band have released a string of singles and compilation appearances on labels such as Bearos, Livid Meerkat, Awkward Silence, Dancing Turtle, Rocket Girl, Slow Noir and Emmas House.
Their 1st album “The End of the Pier” saw its UK release on Bearos in late 2003 followed by a re-sequenced and expanded US version released on Devil In The Woods.
After a string of radio sessions for John Peel on Radio 1, John Kennedy on XFM together with sessions for BBC 6 Music, The Workhouse are set to release their much anticipated 2nd album “Flyover” in 2006.
