Jóhann Jóhannsson is an Iceland-born musician, composer and producer. Jóhann’s stately, slow-building and hauntingly melodic music, which frequently combines electronics with classical orchestrations, has been quietly bewitching listeners since he released his first solo record Englabörn in 2002 on the well respected British label Touch.

The record was re-released in 2007 by 4AD, by which time its reputation had grown as an influential recording in the burgeoning field that has been variously called post-classical or neo-classical.

Jóhann started making music in the 1980s with his band Daisy Hill Puppy Farm and has since been a member of numerous Icelandic bands, including HAM, LHOOQ, Dip and Evil Madness. He founded the Apparat Organ Quartet in 1999, who have released two albums, in 2002 and 2010, and have played various European festivals to great acclaim.

Jóhann is also an award-winning film composer with 8 international feature film credits to his name as well as a composer for theater and contemporary dance. He founded the art organization/record label/think tank Kitchen Motors in 1999 with Kira Kira and Hilmar Jensson.

He is a prolific collaborator, having worked and performed with artists such as Marc Almond (Stranger Things album), Barry Adamson and Pan Sonic, The Hafler Trio, Jaki Liebezeit, Laetitia Sadier, David Tibet, Baby Dee, Larsen and many more.

Poet, painter, and San Francisco based multi-instrumentalist artist Chris Woodyard released a minimalist piano intro to a new ethereal post-rock album that will be released next year in New York City. The new songs with be translated from a series of paintings thats he's done in a 6 week time period as a form of art therapy. A story without words that interpret the collection of emotions, places and experiences that he's had the pleasure to endure. After releasing 'Glass House", an experimental post-rock EP recorded in Boulder, CO last year ; The sounds in this next album will be songs translated from a series of paintings he's done.
