[ 1998 – present ] Sylvain Chauveau [ b. 1971 ] is a French composer. Since 1998, he writes music for piano, strings, winds, electronics and voice. He has played live in the United States, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, El Salvador, United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Spain, Slovenia and France. Sylvain Chauveau has released seven solo records on labels such as Type, FATCAT, and Les Disques du Soleil et de L’acier. In 2002 and 2003, he toured in Europe with Icelandic atmospheric masters Sigur Rós. The year after he performed with Christian Fennesz, and also played with Bernhard Günter, Nikos Veliotis, Phil Durrant, pierre-yves macé. He is the composer of the soundtracks for films by Sébastien Betbeder and worked for choreographers (Pierre Rigal / Aurélien Bory, Serge Ricci) and for performances with writers [ Mark Z. Danielewski, Félicia Atkinson, Joris Lacoste ]. Sylvain is also a member of the cinematic avant-rock band Arca [ with Joan Cambon ], of the ensemble 0 [ with Maitane Sebastian, Stéphane Garin and Joël Merah ], and of the improv duo On [ with Steven Hess ].
