Everybody Loves Irene - On Second Thought, I Might Wanna Change Some Things

2009-04-18 11:20:18 UTC
EVERYBODY LOVES IRENE was born in 1998. It all started with a band named Gotoon, consisting Yudhi Arfani (guitar), Dimas Anindityo (bass), and Mulyadi Triharsono (drum) when they were only in junior high school! The group says it plays music “for times when the ecstasy wears off and the tingle becomes a chill,” a kind of “dance noir for those too world-weary to move.” True, this trip-hop outfit is more suitable to rainy days and Mondays than a pick-me-up jam before going out on Friday night, but that’s what makes them so unique on the Jakarta scene. ------------- ( This is more of an Indonesian version of Portishead. Turned out Very GOOD though. Massive Attack / Portishead / The Aloof fans should dig this. ) ------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Band Members include: Yohanna Erine Putri (vocals), Yudhi Arfani (guitar), Dimas Anindityo (bass), Mulyadi T. Imam (drums), Aulia Naratama (samples, synthesizer), Nurendro Siwiaji (keyboards, piano) everybodylovesirene @ MySpace -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- everybody-loves-irene-on-second-thought-i-might-wanna-change-some-things1 Artist - Everybody Loves Irene Album - On Second Thought, I Might Wanna Change Some Things Release Date - 2008 Genre - Indie, Dark-electro, Trip-hop Tracklist 01 No One Here's Alone 3:20 02 Rindu 5:00 03 Magical Box 5:32 04 Blood in a Rush 4:46 05 The Big Bang Prophecy 5:01 06 Architect 5:00 07 Solitude Dialogue 4:32 08 Love Is So Strange 4:59 09 Ecstasy 5:18 10 Pit 4:08 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everybody Loves Irene - On Second Thought, I Might Wanna Change Some Things Password - SirensSound.blogspot.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anomie Belle ~Encre ~ The Aloof ~ Fauna ~ Antennasia --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Review of A703 by Naal

NAAL is an eclectic music project led by Chicago composer Dave Mantel. This talented musician has a true passion for great melodies and haunting musical textures. His blend of ambient, shoegaze and experimental drone music feels personal and unique, echoing the work of artists such as Slowdive, Boards of Canada or Sigur Ros, just to mention a few.
