Astrobrite is shoegaze/noise pop super group project from the musician Scott Cortez (Of Star and Lovesliescrushing fame). Astrobrite began in 1994 as a solo project and in 1995 the band expanded in order to tour. Astrobrite played their last show in 1997 and went on hiatus. In 2001, Astrobrite’s first album ‘Crush’ was released. In addition to Cortez, members include Lovesliescrushing band mate Melissa Arpin-Duimstra, Lynn Anderson of Alison’s Halo, Andrew Prinz of Mahogany and Majesty Crush’s Odell Nails. Their sophomore effort, ‘Pinkshiny Ultrablast’, was released in 2005, and a third album, ‘Whitenoise Superstar’ was released in April 2007.
