Solo project of varying styles when Chris is not playing in Riff Tiffs, Caddywhompus, or any other group. Chris has been making music since age six and recording since 8th grade. He’s recorded and released two full length experimental pop albums and one full length ambient album. He is currently sporadically releasing one track at a time of previously unreleased songs written and recorded between 2004 and 2007.

This incremental album is entitled " 04-07 Mixtape " and is available at Band Camp (his ambient album is also available for free here). Info about each song from the Mixtape and other news can be found at Chris Rehm. This project used to be called " Afrodisiac " then it was called " Afrodisiaction " and now he uses no stage name. He currently has an EP entitled " Bayous " scheduled to be released in late May of 2009.

Album Description | [i found an] Elephant Ring [and gave it to you] was written and recorded in Summer/Fall of 2010. Shortly thereafter, my computer and hard drive got stolen, leaving me only with the last bounce I did of the album. After listening to the record a lot and thinking of different directions I could possibly take by building upon the existing version, I decided against any further changes from this new vantage point. After repeated listens, I realized that the content of Elephant Ring focused on a specific time period in my life and it was organized and expressed appropriately, while living the experience out.

This is a bedroom recording, and most of the album is performed on acoustic and electric guitar, vocals, toy keyboards, and different objects used for percussion. The record meanders through pop songs, slowly growing and changing drones, walls of noise and piano miniatures. Like many of my previous albums, Elephant Ring essentially flows seamlessly as one continuous track. Influences for this record include The Microphones/Mt. Eerie, The Fun Years, Stars of The Lid, Grouper, Ravel/Satie/Debussy, and Fennesz - to name a few.

[i found an] Elephant Ring [and gave it to you] will be released on May 29, 2012 via the New Orleans co-operative label, Chinquapin Records. It is a digital-only release and will be available on a donation basis with no minimum at chrisrehm.org and other digital retailers. The full album is currently streaming at my website.

Missed the Boat by Erik Kramer

On Saturday, May 20, multi-instrumentalist and lauded bass player Erik Kramer released his debut studio endeavor, an EP entitled ‘Missed the Boat.’ The Brooklyn-based musician has an especially eclectic sound, one that employs the talent of a slew of musicians: saxophone, trombone, viola, trumpet, back-up vocalists - they’re all there. An experimental record through and through, ‘Missed the Boat’ is an indie record quite unlike anything else that’s come across my desk in recent months.

The Great Long Distance by John D. Reedy

The Great Long Distance is an audible recollection of the first 12 months of a long distance relationship, including the highs and lows and moments in between. It is a journal without words, each of the 12 tracks representing each month respectively. Inspired by the format of NIN's "Ghosts I-IV", the album is a sonic tapestry of different moods and themes, with various recurring motifs and the subtle melding of synthesizer and samples; the result something not quite classical, ambient or electronic - rather, an eclectic blend of the three. For fans of Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm and later Ulver
