TSS Changes / TSSF

TheSirensSoundForums 1st thing 1st… To be honest there are various reasons as to why I’ve decided to integrate a forum within TSS.
A/ The shouts for new bands, artists have been increasing at the speed of lightning in the CBOX zone. As a matter of fact there been so many shouts lately that I am even loosing track.
B / My Gmail inbox on the other hand has also grown massive. I admit that I usually recognise a genuine request / contribution from a label mass marketing mail. But still I think a forum would help regaining control to a certain extent.
Moving forward… as much as I like the idea of a ” Forum “. I have to advise that the ” Forum ” is on trial right now. As far as TSS goes, I am very much in control with regards to labels and take down notification.
I don’t know how TSSF might have an impact yet but if problems starts surfacing and if it becomes a major issue then I will eliminate TSSF from the equation. But let’s hope this doesn’t happen as I do personally like the idea of a ” Forum “.
Furthermore, as you may have noticed, there have been few changes on TSS itself. To start with… the 2 columns theme we had is gone and we are now rolling on a 3 column theme.
This is simply because, more and more information and content are being added on the sidebar and eventually the looks and layout just doesn’t seems right at all. So we’ve decided to move to a 3 columns theme. And hopefully we should be able to accommodate more news and content on the sidebar.
Lastly… and the trickiest one of all, Ad sense and Contribution button ~ Well there has been few shouts about Ad sense. But fair enough no one was nasty about it and everyone seems to be rather understandable. So thank you.
However the question still remains… [ Why ? though ] Well… TSS domain is now fully transferred to my account and for that to be done I had to purchase web hosting service which is rather [ costly ]. And believe me when I say costly, I don’t mean a once off fee but instead I am referring to re-occurring fees. Let it be monthly or yearly but the fact is the cost in maintaining TSS has gone way up drastically.
So I figure out sticking few ads and a contribution button for those who most importantly [ can ] and others appreciate the hard work. You’ll also see advertising spaces on the sidebar but I have to say none of those marketing tools should become a discomfort for anyone’s browsing experience. I’ve considered all the ups and down and at this stage all changes / update / is indeed on a trial basis.
Oh… I almost forgot,wWith regards to TSSF. All registered members on TSS will have to re-register in order to gain access to the new forum. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We’ve tried everything in our power but we just couldn’t get the registered members data to automatically roll over to TSSF. Once again, my sincere apology but if you’d like to gain access to the new forum you will have to re-register.
Many thanks for all your understanding and keep the music coming TSS / TSSF / CBOX / INBOX / Last.Fm / MySpace… it’s your call. As long the good music goes around and gets heard by thousands. THIS IS ALL THAT MATTERS IN THE END.
