Los Capítulos de Meteoro begins as a joint project between Julio Yicarean ( Antena, Hemisferio 3100 ) and Pablo F. ( Puentes Llamándome al Unísono ) in 2008. The idea was to make a lo-fi electronic music infused with a lot of nostalgia and old synths but also keeping some of the songs up-tempo, unlike most overturned projects Ambient/Post-Rock mentioned above. To date released a [ self-titled ] album in 2008 and an EP called [ El Día más ] Largo de la Vida" in 2010.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And here goes an electronica project you definitely might want to have a go. Their 2010 release [ El Día Más Largo De La Vida ] consist of a slow pattern softronic melody set to synthetic strings and distant echoing drums a la [ Parka and The Cold Hand Of God ] and [ The Aloof ]. The songs manages to match the somber tone of its subject effectively as it allows tension to build as the strings slowly flows back and forth between the song's. Check out the previews and in this particular case I would say the latest is the best start but do have a go on the 2009 titles as well.

Review for 52 by Orellana

Orellana is a neo-classical/post-rock collective hailing from Bristol, UK. Their new album “52”, released in late December, brought in the new year with it’s explosive and intricate sound. The project’s music transcends genre definitions in order to focus on a broad, diverse concept that is more emotional than tangible. This particular release is full of rich and diverse arrangements, but it is also a powerful exercise in minimalism, one that showcases the strength of very few notes placed in the right spots. The simplicity of the arrangement is actually one of the strongest aspects of this entire release: there’s a palpable stillness created by the long, drone notes in the background, which almost makes you feel like the world is happening in slow motion. When the chords and notes change, it feels quite monumental due to the beautiful contrast between the stillness of the background textures and the expressive sound of the guitar-based melodies.
