Influenced by both hip-hop and electronic music, Bandeauxx. is a project focused on minimal, electronic pop. Yes, there's rapping. Yes, there's singing too. "I wanted to create a more open-ended take on music that reflected the world we actually live in" says Bandeauxx. "Where ideas and creativity combine to form something greater than the sum of its parts". Bandeauxx. is currently working on a series of projects and playlists focused on non-traditional electronic sounds.
The whole driving force behind the True To Form EP was "do the most honest music you can". Mixing elements from deep house to dancehall, hip-hop and electronic music as whole, True To Form as an EP is planting a flag for a sound in an ever-shifting musical climate. Written in locations like Singapore, Thailand, Los Angeles and Miami, the concept for the EP took shape over 18 months while doing remixes for artists like Xains, LINES, Paperwater and Voila Snow. Now, fully realized, Bandeauxx. is ready to show the world a new sound in and outside of the festivals.
We often project onto people the qualities we think we perceive in them and that’s what ‘Melle' is meant to be — an embodiment of some of the projections Benjamin had. The track itself serves up a heady mix of sounds that nod to the bizarre and futuristic worlds of anime, and is predominantly inspired by classic jazz; think smooth, sleek piano melodies, subtle, fuzzy bass tones and hazy vocal sampling, all off-set by crunchy percussive textures and off-kilter rhythms.
Dubtrak, recording artist and music producer from Toronto, Canada has been delivering his unique blend of dub, global beats and trippy psytrance electronica since 2008.
Dubtrak’s music has been compared to The Orb, Underworld, Banco de Gaia and the like, but with extra organic ingredients, some exotic spices and unexpected twists.
"Out of thin air" is Dubtrak's 5th full-length release. It represents quite a departure from earlier, bass-heavy, psy-dub oriented grooves, found on the previous releases. Here Dubtrak experiments with some samples from those earlier albums but the sound goes through an ambient treatment, heavily processed into epic dream-like soundscape, as imagined through the prism of Dubtrak's other project, Intersonic Subformation.
A combination of retro aesthetics, enduring lyrics and alt-rock grit.
The best music happens when artists refuse to remain stuck in their own comfort zones and creative boxes. Whenever this happens, they are free to give full range to their vision, and they can really come up with something that’s groundbreaking and personable. This is certainly the case here with Tommy Red and his brand new EP release, “I Wanna Be Exploited.”
